Rules and Information

  • Race course is 1000 meters for all events with a floating start
  • Limit of 3 entries per organization per event (except singles and doubles events)
  • All heats are finals.
  • Two entries from different clubs per event required for a race
  • WARNING: Do NOT enter adjacent events. "Hot seating" may not be possible.

USRowing registered regatta: Rules of Rowing apply

  • Rule 2-310, all broken equipment in the starting area will be given 5 minutes to repair with an immediate restart following the repair
  • Rule 3-105, Bowball; every boat must have a bowball
  • Rule 3-108, Footgear Release; the heel shall not raise more than 3 inches
  • Rule 3-110, Bow Numbers; every boat must have a bow number (please bring bow numbers 1-6 if you have them)
  • Rule 4-103, A female rower may not compete in events for men, and a male rower may not compete in events for women. A crew competing in a mixed event must be 50% male and 50% female, not including the coxswain.
  • Rule 5-203, all clubs must be USRowing organizational members except for single entries who, if unaffiliated, must be full-privilege individual members of USRowing. A competitor shall represent only one club.
  • Rule 5-204, No composite entries.

Masters Events (including AA Category) - All rowers must be 21 years of age or older as of December 31.

  • Rule 4-104.3 Lightweights - NO weigh in; honor system
    • A men’s lightweight crew, including a single scull (1x), shall have no Rower who weighs more than160 lbs.
    • A women’s lightweight crew, including a single scull (1x), shall have no Rower who weighs more than130 lbs.

Age handicaps will be applied according to USRowing Rules of Rowing

Novice Events - All rowers must be in their first year of racing

All events have limited capacity. If you plan to attend, please register early to avoid the waitlist.

All participants must have a "Release of Liability" on file with or submit a USRowing "Release of Liability" available at Regatta Central

All payments must be made by credit card with Regatta Central

Lake Carnegie COURSE MAP

The Heebink Bowl award will be presented to the club with the best winning record of the day. One point for singles, two points for doubles, four points for fours/quads and eight points for eights. Coxswain race will not receive points

The Lyons Cup is awarded to the best novice boat at the Carnegie Lake Regatta. The Cup is in memory of Pat Lyons, who was co-director of the club’s Learn to Row Program for many years.

Please join us for lunch

We plan to have hot dogs, hamburgers, salads, desserts and drinks.

We are famous for our regatta food tent thanks to the Lakers who bring home-made items. We have to uphold or reputation for the best lunch at any regatta. Again this year we are offering lunch for FREE with donations accepted.

From the South: Interstate 95 North into New Jersey to Exit 7B, Route 206 North. North for 6.2 miles on Route 206 to Princeton. At traffic light go straight on Route 27 North (Nassau Street). Do not turn left on Route 206. North through town for 3.6 miles. Regatta site on your right.

From the North: New Jersey Turnpike South. Exit 9. Route 18 West 0.7 miles to Route 1 South towards Trenton. 11.4 miles South on Route 1. Exit right on Raymond Road for 1.3 miles to Route 27. South on Route 27 for 1.5 miles. Regatta site on your left.
