CLRA has entered an 8+ in RowNY’s Harlem River Classic on
Sunday, May 22, 2016, and we need to raise $4,000 by then to be able to race. Row New York teaches city middle and high school students how to row and how to prepare for college. They have a 95% college acceptance rate, frequently with rowing scholarships for their graduates. They also work with handicapped teens. This worthy cause ultimately diversifies the sport and opens the door to the next generation of talent both on the water and in the classroom. Check out their website:

You can help by donating here:
https://www.crowdrise.com/boat2, signing up to row, or both! To sign up as a rower or cox, contact Elizabeth Sheldon at
Elizabethvsheldon@gmail.com. This is a chance to row at a new and unusual venue, and be treated to oar valets and a nice reception afterward while supporting a good cause. We hope to have enough demand for seats that the coaches will have to select a lineup from a lot of eager competitors. Let's show our Laker spirit by winning on the water and with the highest fundraising. Last year we were number one!
