Carnegie Lake Rowing Association

Carnegie Lake Rowing Association participates in regattas each season at home and at other venues along the East Coast. These regattas give our members the opportunity to experience competition and to enjoy the hospitality of other rowing clubs. Some regattas have events for novice as well as experienced rowers, and some are highly competitive. The highlight of the season is our own Carnegie Lake Regatta in the summer. The costs associated with each regatta (transportation, entry fees, etc.) are shared by all participants, excluding coxswains. Lakers may sign up for each regatta online. The coach will make the boatings, and boatings and practice schedule will then be posted one week prior to practices, which will be 1 or more weeks before the event (depending on the regatta).

The Race Team is responsible for the administrative duties concerning regattas, including practices and schedules for races. The coaches make boating assignments. An effort is made to give everyone who signs up for a regatta a chance to race, but this may not always be possible depending on who and how many sign up, the events available at the regatta, and how competitive the regatta is. All lineups and boat assignments are the decision of the coaches.

A 2000-meter Laker Erg Race is held at the Princeton Boathouse in March. All club members, subject to coach's approval, are encouraged to take part. Fabulous prizes are awarded to the winners in several categories.
